I never imagined I’d like Shrek the Musical. When one of my friends at work said he saw it on Broadway and that it was great, I was really surprised. So when a production of the musical came to our local high school last year, I had to check it out. Although it was a high school production, it used the script and songs from the Broadway version. I am always fascinated to talk with friends about how they approach helping children grow and improve within areas that they may currently be struggling. Some talk about needing to punish the kids so they will learn who is in control. Others say it is more of a training and conditioning thing, getting kids to do what they want them to do using rewards and consequences.
